In A Dream of Red Mansions, Aunt Zhao is not a brilliant female image, but she always gives fantastic performance whenever she appears. She concentrates various evil behaviors of the lower class women. Her speech and action propels the development of the plots, creating twists and turns. She provides a typical environment for the character of Tan Chun and Jia Huan. She also reflects the other side of the personality of Jia Zheng, one of the major figures in the novel, revealing the author＇ s emotional tendency. It also indicates some subtle information suggesting that Cao Xueqin might not be the original writer of this book at all, thus provides important evidence for further research on the original author.
