本研究主要探讨关系语义学的形成背景以及“系统意义”的本质.（1）关系语义学的理论先导是考赛略（1962）,莱昂斯（1963）将之推向前沿,而对关系语义详加描述的是克鲁斯（1986）;（2）与基于新洪堡特主义和格式塔心理场论的“心智语义场”理论相比,关系语义学的背景是形式结构主义,可称为“关系语义场”理论.所谓“系统意义”,仅限于词语“指称意义”中的几种特定关系的心理联想.（3）作为储存词汇语义的数据知识库,“词网”采用计算技术手段刻画了几种常见的词汇语义关系.词汇语义关系研究还面临着三大任务.

This study investigates the background＇ of relational semantics, and the nature of ＂sense relations＂. （ 1 ） E. Coseriu was the pioneer of relational semantics and J. Lyons was the integrator of it. D. A. Cruse elaborated this field by giving further detailed explanations ; （2） Different from the ＂mental - semantic - field＂, which is based on Neo - Humboldtianism, relational semantics is a ＂relational - semantic - field＂ based on formal - structuralism. Actually, the ＂sense＂ has referential meaning as a foundation. （3） As a knowledge database storing lexical semantic, WordNet gives an account of these lexical semantic relations with computational technical application. Although there are difficulties in the analysis of semantic features and semantic syntagmatic, it＇ s not possible for the description of lexical semantic relations to replace the analysis of lexical semantic features.
