随着《博耶报告》的发表,大学教学引起了国际高等教育界的广泛关注,而教学支持服务也成为各国高校提升教学质量的普遍方式。如果从1962年美国密歇根大学创建全球第一个教学支持服务中心算起,西方高校的教学支持服务实践与研究距今已有半个世纪的历史,并呈现出制度化、多元化、专业化和全球化等特征。2007年,中国海洋大学成立了国内首个教学支持中心,我国也开始更加注重这一领域的实践探索。要跨越中西方近半个世纪的历史差距,就必须在国际视野与本土实践的双重变奏中探寻中国高校教学支持服务的发展路向。

As the Boyer Report was published, university teaching has .gained broad attention from the international higher education community. And teaching support and services (TSS)become a widely used way to improve teaching quality at universities and colleges globally. With key features such as institutionalization, diversification, professionalization and globalization, TSS in higher education institutions has been evolving for half of century in the western world since the first TSS center was established at University of Michigan in 1962. The first Teaching Support Center was established in Ocean University China in 2007, which marked the beginning of TSS practice in China. Given the great historical gap between the TSS in China and that in the western world, it needs to clarify the future directions of TSS development in Chinese higher education institutions both in global perspective and local practice.
