通过对俄狄浦斯半人半神的形象塑造以及俄狄浦斯神话的重新叙述，表达了这样的思想：在人的理性之上还存在神的或世界的理性，即神性。人类集神性、人性、兽性于一身。神性高于人的理性，兽性低于人的理性，两者都表现为疯狂，因而人、人性是在理性和疯狂之间游移不定的存在，具有双重特性。

By creating the half-human half-god character of Oedipus, and re-stating his myths, the author ex- pressed his opinion. He believed that, above humanity, there is still rationalism of god or of the world, which is the deity. Human is a mixture of deity, humanity and barbarity. Although the barbarity hiding beneath rationalism, they both result in madness. Thus the deity is beyond the rationalism, and human and humanity are subjects wavering between rationalism and madness, showing dual characteristics.
