As early as in the Democratic Revolution period, Chinese Communist Party （CCP） had estab lished the teaching principles of ＂linking theory to practice＂ in the schools for the officials. After New Chi na was founded, the internal education of officials met new problems and new conditions, which showed that it was of great importance and urgency to insist on and implement the teaching principles. Ai, as a Marxist philosopher and an educator who had been teaching ideological and political theories, had a pro found understanding on this issue. On the basis of his mastery of philosophy and his rich experience, he not only made a perfect explanation of the meaning and methods of the teaching principles, but also put it into practice himself. Ai made considerable contribution to the theorization of the teaching principles with his rich and insightful discourse.
