作为现代工业文明的重要组成部分.以升学为手段求职为目的的现代教育是一种城市导向的齐一化教育。在根底上它是一种离土教育,是反生态的,因此注定是无根的,因为它是一种疏离自然、远离生活的“书呆子教育”.只强调书本知识的学习.割断了学生、学校和教育与自然、社会、传统和实践的血脉联系,使得我们教育出来的学生失去心理坐标,产生孤独感,导致鲜活生命的萎谢。对于今日的生态危机,现代教育负有不可推卸的责任。随着现代工业文明的式微,现代教育为工业文明所培养人才之过剩就成为一种必然。作为现代文明超越者.后现代生态文明需要新型人才.因此它呼唤一种热土教育.这是一种以地方共同体的共同福祉为旨归的有根教育。它注重增强学生与世界的联系感.它把培养学生厚重的责任感和深邃的归属感作为教育的目的。这种后现代的热土教育对中国的生态文明建设具有格外重要的现实意义。中国经济从外向型经济向内向型经济的转型为这种热土教育提供了极好的发展机遇:反过来.这种后现代的热土教育将为生态文明建设提供强大的教育支撑。

The paper argues that one of the key reasons why modern China's education is in its presentpredicament is that it has blindly adopted the idea of education from the Western countries, namely, the idea thateducation should be city-centered, and that the function of education is to produce competitive workers for thecities. But this idea of education is fundamentally anti-ecological because it severs the intrinsic connectionsbetween students on the one hand, and nature, community, tradition, and practice, on the other. This rootlesseducation is responsible for the ecological crisis facing us now. If postmodem ecological civilization is totranscend the modem industrial civilization, an education that is oriented toward the needs of local communitiesis indispensable; that is, an education with roots, which takes as its goal the serving of the common good ofcommunities both local and global. It fosters the sense of responsibility and sense of belonging by strengtheningthe links between students and their surrounding world, especially their local communities. Community-orientededucation is essential for China's construction of ecological civilization. The Chinese economy has been evolvingfrom a largely export-oriented economy to a domestic demand-oriented economy, and this economictransformation provides a great opportunity for the development of local community-oriented education. In turn,the constructive postmodem local community-oriented education also lends powerful support to China'secological civilization.
