大部分学校将桥梁工程概论设为专业入门课,也有少部分学校将其设为校选课供其它专业的学生选修。按专业入门课的方式来讲这门课往往会导致学生对所讲内容无法理解,从而降低学习兴趣。为提高授课效果,激发学生的学习兴趣,拓展学生的知识面,根据校选课的实际情况,对其教学内容和教学方法进行改革。实践表明：合理调整后的教学内容,以讲故事、讲经典桥例、课堂讨论、动手画桥等方式教学,学生对所讲授的知识易于理解,学习热情较高,教学效果较好。

Practices shows that, after adjustment of teaching content, with tell stories, speak the classic bridge, class discussion, hand painted bridge and so on ways to teaching introduction to bridge engineering course, students are easy to understand the knowledge of teaching, it can be effective in simulating students＇ enthusiasms for learning, thereby improving the quality of teaching.
