隋唐至元代,从海上丝绸之路到东南沿海一带落籍的阿拉伯人,经过与华夏各族通婚生育后形成回族,他们保持着诸多阿拉伯人的生活方式和生产方式,既擅长经商,又擅长制作各种具有阿拉伯风味的食品,他们以清真寺为中心形成了自己的社区,“面点、蜜饯、茶水”构成的“回族茶点”及清真美吃遍布街区,满足了各地商人对用餐速度和口味的要求。干净、快捷、可口、精致的清真点心配上伊拉克蜜枣为代表的各类果脯和茶水,成了商人谈生意时的“甜蜜”佐餐和市民消遣休闲时喜爱的美食。新中国成立前,“回族茶点”在广州、杭州、南京、泉州、扬州、镇江、常州等沿海城市已成为商贾绅士相聚和市民生活必不可少的“佐餐”。然而,随着社会变迁,“回族茶点”文化消减严重,发掘、研究并传承“回族茶点”文化,对于丰富我国民族餐饮文化、休闲文化和茶文化,提高人们的生活品质有着重要而现实意义。

From Sui and Tang dynasty to Yuan, Arabians resident in China's south-east coastal areas from Maritime Silk Road became Hui nationality after intermarry with local nationalities .They kept their Arab life style and working modes, such as being good at doing business and making various Arab flavored cakes. They formed their own community circled Mosques ,where "Hui's tea cake", consisted by pastry ,sweetmeat and tea, were scattering all over the streets which met merchants" ,from various regions, needs for the speed of having dinner and tastes. Clean, shortcut, tasty and delicate Muslim cakes, candied date, the representative of Iraq preserved fruits and tea drinking were sweet table snacks for businessmen and citizens" leisure time snacks. Before new China, Hui's tea cake were popular in Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Quanzhou, Zhengjiang, Changzhou and other costal cities ; however, Hui's tea cake culture seriously declined with social changes, so it's necessary to explore, study and inherit it , which has significant meaning for enriching our national culinary culture, leisure culture and tea culture, and also for improoing people's living quality.
