鲁明善是出身在元代高昌（今新疆吐鲁番）的畏兀儿族著名农学家，他编著的《农桑衣食撮要》是我国古代月令类农书的上乘之作。他在逐月叙述所应从事的主要耕作、蚕桑、畜牧、林业、酿造等农家日常事务时，十分重视介绍预防灾害发生的方法和措施。如主张冬天收集雪水来浸泡种子以防旱防虫，修池塘贮水以防干旱；春天用绳子掠去黍苗上的露水以保护禾苗；忌用露水淋湿的桑叶饲蚕以免蚕病；用莞花末涂抹皮具以防虫害；在米仓内置放芝麻杆以防米被虫蛀等等。他还在池州路达鲁花赤任上为避免火灾发生采取了行之有效的措施。鲁明善的防患备灾思想包含在阐述农业生产等技术事项中，值得加以重视和研究。

Lu Mingshan was famous agronomist of Weiwuer who was born in Gaochang inYuan Dynasty, his 《Nongsang Summary of Food and Clothing》is outstanding agriculture book of ancient times. He clearly stated proper farming, silkworm breeding, livestock raising, forestry and brewing of every month, and introduced methods and measures for preventing disasters as well. He proposed to collect snow water for immersing seeds to against drought and insects, to build pond for storing water to against drought; sweep past the dew on the millet sprouts by rope in spring for protection; not to feed silkworm the dew wringing folium mori; to smearing leather product with tabernaemontanus bulrush to against insect pest; put sesame sticks in rice barn for preventing worm damage, etc. He took effective measures while in Chizhoulu as darughach to preventing fire. His prevention and disaster preparedness thoughts were included in the statement about agriculture industry and skills, and that are worth for serious consideration and research.
