明末阿拉担汗时期,就有数万内地人民流入丰州滩,开垦农田,经营商业或手工业。大量汉族移民的涌入,农耕经济的推广,蒙汉杂居格局的形成和府、厅、州、县的建立,无不意味着该地区社会环境的变迁。在这种蒙古人的汉化与汉人的蒙古化变化中,蒙汉两种语言的相互影响尤为突出。然而在这样双向互动关系中,该地区原著民蒙古人的语言逐渐被新的强势语言——汉语所代替。在汉语取代蒙古语、逐渐形成土默特地区方言过程中,出现了蒙汉复合词汇、借用蒙古语词汇和音译蒙古语并保留原意词汇等诸多现象。在语言的互动关系中应鼓励自然的涵化,而不是人为的同化。

명말아랍담한시기,취유수만내지인민류입봉주탄,개은농전,경영상업혹수공업。대량한족이민적용입,농경경제적추엄,몽한잡거격국적형성화부、청、주、현적건립,무불의미착해지구사회배경적변천。재저충몽고인적한화여한인적몽고화변화중,몽한량충어언적상호영향우위돌출。연이재저양쌍향호동관계중,해지구원저민몽고인적어언축점피신적강세어언——한어소대체。재한어취대몽고어、축점형성토묵특지구방언과정중,출현료몽한복합사회、차용몽고어사회화음역몽고어병보류원의사회등제다현상。재어언적호동관계중응고려자연적함화,이불시인위적동화。
During Alatan Khan period or the late Ming Dynasty, tens of thousands of people in the hinterland flowed into the region of Fengzhoutan to reclaim farmland, run business or do handicraft. A large influx of Han immigrants, promotion of agricultural people, and the establishment of administrative bodies economy, mixed inhabitance of Mongolian and Han of ministry, bureau, prefecture and county, altogether resulted in social changes in this area. In the process of assimilation between Mongolian and Han people, mutual influence is particularly prominent on both languages. However, in such a two -way interaction, the aboriginal Mongolian language was gradually replaced by Chinese, the new and predominant language. During the process of replacement and the formation of Tumote dialect, many changes took place in the language of this area such as the emergence of Mongolian - Chinese compound words, transliteration and direct use of Mongolian vocabulary. In the interaction between languages, natural acculturation rather than artificial assimilation should be encouraged.
