本文基于框架语义理论，聚焦考察英语名名复合词的语义意合性及其途径。研究发现：1）英语名名复合在保留主要概念框架的同时，摒弃次要概念框架，体现出本质上的意合性，有违其形合主流特征；2）其意合途径根据名名复合是否发生隐、转喻而分为基本操作与隐、转喻化抽象操作两个层次，其中前者为未发生隐、转喻的名名复合词，后者为涉及隐、转喻的名名复合词；3）基本操作的意合途径主要涉及谓词删除、动词名词化、介词删除，而隐、转喻化抽象操作是以基本操作为基础，通过隐喻化、转喻化或隐转喻化最终通达意合。

This paper examines the semantic parataxis of English N ＋ N compounds from the perspective of the Frame Seman- tics Theory. The findings are as follows ： 1 ） The compounding of English N ＋ N compounds is a frame-based compounding of major conceptual frames in which only the major conceptual frames are retained while the minor ones are ignored; therefore, N ＋ N English compounds are paratactic in nature although the English language is basically hypotactic ; 2） The paratactic ac- cesses to English N ＋ N compounds can be classified into two levels ： the basic level involving the non-metaphoric or non-met- onymic ones, and the abstract level involving the metaphorized, metonymized or metaphtonymized ones; 3 ） The paratactic ac- cesses to the former are characterized by predicate deletion, verb nominalization and preposition deletion, while the latter are primarily instantiated by metaphorization, metonymization and metaphtonymization on the basis of the operation at the basic level.
