一晚商时期，黄河中游南流段（以下简称“南流黄河”）两岸出现了一群面貌独特的青铜器。在黄河以东，这群青铜器的分布范围北起保德，南至吉县，包括今保德、柳林、石楼、永和、隰县、吉县等六县。从自然地貌看，主体位于吕梁山西麓。而在黄河以西的陕东北地区，面貌相近的铜器在北起绥德、南至甘泉的范围内也有发现，包括今绥德、清涧、延川、延安、子洲、延长、甘泉等县市。以自然地貌划分，则在无定河、清涧河、延河、洛河下游与黄河之间的黄土高原地带。
일 만상시기，황하중유남류단（이하간칭“남류황하”）량안출현료일군면모독특적청동기。재황하이동，저군청동기적분포범위북기보덕，남지길현，포괄금보덕、류림、석루、영화、습현、길현등륙현。종자연지모간，주체위우려량산서록。이재황하이서적협동북지구，면모상근적동기재북기수덕、남지감천적범위내야유발현，포괄금수덕、청간、연천、연안、자주、연장、감천등현시。이자연지모화분，칙재무정하、청간하、연하、락하하유여황하지간적황토고원지대。
In the late Shang Dynasty, a group of bronzes with local characteristics emerged on the two banks of the southward flowing section of the middle reaches of the Yellow River. In the past long time, controversies have been existed in the dates, ethnic attributions and other relevant issues on these bronzes, the core issue of which is the defining of the date of the bronze assemblage unearthed at Linzheyu Locus in Baode, Shanxi. The analyses show that most of the bronzes bearing clear date features among the Linzheyu bronze assemblage corresponded with the Yinxu Period, and the latest ones were still earlier than the Western Zhou Dynasty. The bronze groups on the both banks of the southward flowing section of the middle reaches of the Yellow River would have belonged to the same cultural system, which was related to Lijiaya Culture. Comprehensively considering all of the available materials, it is not suitable to attribute the bronzes unearthed out of the two banks of the southward flowing section of the middle reaches of the Yellow River into two cultural types existing in different times.
