村社的组成与活动在清代、民国的晋中是一种重要的村落民俗。村民由共同信仰和地缘关系建构起村社。村社兼具民间信仰组织和村落自治组织的双重属性,普遍存在于各个村落,虽然规模大小不等,但它具有特别重要的地位和职能。各村之社把世俗权力与神圣权威结合起来,卓有成效地对村落实施了整合、教化和控制,使村落群体保持了凝聚与秩序,社区生活因而得以和谐运行、稳定延续。

In Jinzhong during Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, the organization and activities of the rural community were a kind of important folk custom. Although their scales were different, they had especially important status and functions. Each of them unified the common custom authority and the sacred authority. They had fruitfully implemented the conformity, the enlightenment and the control to the village, made the village community to maintain the condensation and the order. The community life thus could go on harmoniously.
