修辞批评，简而言之，是对修辞现象的批评。实际上，修辞批评的意义远非如此简单，它应有内涵与外延意义。本文从修辞批评的广义与狭义定义、修辞批评的功能、修辞批评的主要模式三个方面阐述其内涵，从修辞批评的分析步骤阐述其外延，进而对修辞批评的基本理论做系统的再定位。

Rhetorical criticism is simply a criticism of rhetorical phenomena. Actually, the concept of rhetorical criticism is not that simple. The paper aims to deliver a systematic study of the basic theory of rhetorical criticism by redefining it from its connotation and denotation which respectively includes the concept in its broad and narrow senses, the functions and the main mode of rhetorical criticism, and the analytic procedures of rhetorical criticism.
