教育民族志是运用民族志的调查技术与方法研究文化传播,尤其是学校教育及其过程的一种研究方法或者一种文本叙述形式。在取得田野调查收获的同时,也会产生语言、参与程度与角色转换、性别和年龄、田野调查技术、田野伦理道德与责任等方面的困惑。这在某种程度上代表着当今民族志研究面临的挑战。有必要尝试一些新的收集和分析民族志资料的方法或途径,创新教育民族志的研究方法;进一步拓展教育民族志研究范围,从而达到比较全面地了解中国民族教育的目的。

Educational ethnography is a research method or a text narration form to study cultural communication, especially school education and its process by using investigations and methods of ethnography. While achieving the results of field investigation, it also brings about confusions in aspects of language, degree of participation, role switching, gender, age, as well as field investigation skills, ethics and responsibility. These are the challenges in the current studies of ethnography. So, it is necessary to try some new ways of collecting and analyzing ethnographic materials, create new research methods, and further expand its study field so as to have a more comprehensive understanding of the aim of ethnic education in China.
