先秦时期，“歌唱”义主要用“歌”表示，“唱”的本义为“领唱”，是一个下位词。战国末期，基于语用原则中的“不过量准则”，“唱”在特定的语境中产生了特殊隐涵义（ PCI）“歌唱”义。东汉至隋，“唱”的“歌唱”义由 PCI 向一般隐涵义（GCI）转化，而“歌”仍是｛歌唱｝概念域的主导词。初唐以后，“唱歌”义逐渐成为“唱”的固有义（ SM）和主导义，晚唐五代时，“唱”取代了“歌”的强势上位词地位。“唱”的上位化对｛歌唱｝概念域的词汇系统产生了较大的影响。

The meaning of singing was mainly expressed by Ge（歌）,and Chang（唱）which referred to the meaning of leading songs was a hyponym in pre-Qin Period. Chang produced its Particularized Conversational Implicature（PCI）in specific context on the basis of the pragmatic principles of“Not Excessive”in late Warring States Period. From the Eastern Han Dynasty to the Sui Dynasty,the sing-ing meaning of Chang converted from Particularized Conversational Implicature（PCI）to Generalized Conversational Implicature（GCI）;while Ge was still the predominant superordinate of{SINGING}. The meaning of singing became the Semanticized Meaning（ SM）and the predominant meaning of Chang after the early Tang Dynasty and then Chang took the predominant superordinate position of Ge in the late Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties. The superordinatalization of Chang had a great effect on the lexical system of the concept domain of{SINGING}.
