唐咸亨至上元之际,皇家曾命工书写大藏经多部。其书在敦煌遗书中尚有留存。笔者据流传之典藏稽考,这些写本经卷之装潢,出自留名为解善集或解集之手者多至数十卷。解集、解善集当是一人。＂集＂是名,＂善集＂为字,其名与字之内涵当与其职业相关。经其装潢之经卷,品相富丽堂皇。其技艺之精湛,堪称中国典籍装潢史上的名家。

당함형지상원지제,황가증명공서사대장경다부。기서재돈황유서중상유류존。필자거류전지전장계고,저사사본경권지장황,출자류명위해선집혹해집지수자다지수십권。해집、해선집당시일인。＂집＂시명,＂선집＂위자,기명여자지내함당여기직업상관。경기장황지경권,품상부려당황。기기예지정담,감칭중국전적장황사상적명가。
From Xianheng to Shangyuan period of Tang Dynasty, many sets of Tripitaka had been transcribed according to the imperial commands. Many of them remained in Dunhuang posthumous writings. On the basis of these remained manuscripts, there were lots of book sets＇ binding and layout made by the artisan Xie Shanji, sometimes called Xie Ji who supposed to be the same person. Ji is the name and Shanji is the word, while both meanings were connected with his professional characteristics. The sutras＇ package designs made by Xie Shanji were gorgeous and shown remarkable skills.Because of this, Xie Shanji could be seen as a master- hand in the history of Chinese book designs.
