本文指出“边缘”是我们察觉自身认知偏见的关键场域;理解“边缘”奇特、陌生的现象后,我们才能将自己熟悉的现象视为“奇特”,而对它产生反思性了解.为了对社会本相有反思性理解,本文以移动凹凸镜为喻,介绍一种借着移动、多点的观察比较,以认识社会本相的研究方法.

This article indicates that borders' peripheries are crucial spaces within where we may be aware of our bias in recognizing social reality: through a deep understanding on "strange" things exist in borders' peripheries, we may challenge our taken for granted assumptions, and then toward a reflexive understanding on "familiar" things all around us. By using the metaphor of "curved mirror" , this article also suggests a shift, multi-sited observations and comparative method for acquiring reflexive knowledge on social reality.
