The article reviewed literature on teachers＇ professional identity based on a search of publications cited by SSCI in JSTOR, Elsevier, EBSCO, Gale, SAGE, Wiley Online Libraries, analyzed and summarized the definition, characteristics and contributing factors of teachers＇ professional identity. The article also drew implications for the future research trends on teachers＇ professional identity.
