近年来跨国药企在中国行贿事件陆续曝光,揭示了其在发展中国家获取高额利润部分依靠权力运作的事实。跨国药企主要是透过制度策略、政商策略与营销策略进行权力运作以打通商业关节。在制度方面,药企游说母国在国际上推动有利于跨国资本流动的国际规范与有利于他们的专利权制度;政商策略表现在跨国企商常与发展中国家政府共谋,并与母国审查人员有利益关联,还促使政府加快药品核准上市的流程等;营销策略则包含扩大药物使用范围及透过行贿控制高药价等,三种策略皆镶嵌在新自由主义全球化的结构力量之中。

Recently a couple of multinational pharmaceutical companies (MPC) have been exposed being involved in bribing in China, which enclosed a fact that apart from their products' quality, MPCs heavily rely on power operating to guarantee their high profits. However, in China there has been a lack of sociological research on their power maneuvering. It is this research's aim to fill in the gap, and it suggests MPCs have made their way through three types of strategies regarding institution, political- commercial relationship and marketing, and all three strategies are embedded in the structure of neoliberal globalization. Institutionally, MPCs lobby their home countries to push forward policies and international norms in favor of cross-border capital flows, and take sides with the patent system to protect private property system in the international community. Politic-commercial relationship-wise, MPCs build up complicity with the governments of developing countries, develop the medical examiners of home countries their stakeholders, and prompt the governments of their own to speed up the listing of approved drugs processes. Marketing strategies include seven ways of doing ranging from expanding the scope of drug use to controlling high prices of medicine through bribery.
