修辞妨碍真理实现,这是自苏格拉底审判以后流传的成见。柏拉图通过反思苏格拉底审判,得出了修辞是“通过语言蛊惑听众”的诡辩术这一结论。就苏格拉底审判而言,从技术层面看,苏格拉底为了追求真理,在辩护中期待以“去修辞”的方式说服民众,实现自己的抱负。实际上,苏格拉底的“去修辞法”是一种修辞;苏格拉底拒绝背法而逃,追求以死服法,用生命叙说守法的正当性和合理性;苏格拉底审判以一种隐喻的方式,指出缺乏真理追求的制度只会存有“回光返照”似的光明,冲击了雅典政治,是典型的行为修辞。苏格拉底审判一开始就将真理与修辞关系之争拉上了历史序幕,并用自身的生命论证修辞必须是追求真理的修辞。苏格拉底审判看似是对特定公民的审判,实际上却是对雅典公民的审判;是德性之争,更是真理之辩。修辞本身应当是价值无涉,它是一门关乎说服的方法,并非是遮蔽真理的技艺。

Rhetorical impede the truth realized, which is the spread prejudices trom the trial of Socrates. Through the reflection on the trial, Plato concluded that the rhetoric is "using language to bewitch the audience". From a technical per- spective, in the pursuit of truth, Socrates looked torward to convincing the people via the rhetoric. In fact, Socrates' ap- proach to the rhetoric is a kind of rhetoric. Socrates retused to break the law and he refused to flee because he was with life to illustrate the lawful legitimacy and rationality. The trial of Socrates is a typical behavior of rhetoric, because it pointed out the short of pursuit of truth will only have shining like the last radiance of the setting sun in a metaphorical way, which impacted of the Athenian politics. The trial of Socrates debated the relation between the truth and the rhetorical at the very start. Socrates had used his own lives to demonstrate the rhetorical must be the pursuit of truth and rhetoric. The trial of Socrates seems to the trial of specific civil, but it actually aimed at the citizens of Athens. It represents the struggle tor vir- tue and debate tor truth as well. Rhetoric should be value -free, and it is a matter of persuasion, not obscuring truth skills.
