著名的教育家叶圣陶一生致力于编写和主持编撰教材，他坚持“所有课本都是政治课本”“所有课本都是语文课本”的工具性价值理念；坚持教材必须具有“科学性”“适应性”“规范性”的实体性价值理念；批判教材依赖性、应试性、商品化的负价值取向；并在教材编写、修改、审定的全过程中将其一以贯之。他的教材价值思想对于新课改教材编写、修改、审定等都有重要的启示。

The famous educator Ye Shengtao devoted himself to writing and compiling textbooks. He insisted on the instrumental value conception that all the textbooks are political textbooks and Chinese language textbooks. He adhered to the philosophy of substantive value, which emphasizes the scientific nature, adaptability and normativity of textbooks. He criticized textbook＇s dependence-oriented, examination-oriented and merchandised negative value orientation. This principle runs through the whole process of textbook writing, modification and authorization. Ye Shengtao＇s thought of textbook value has enlightenment on textbook writing, modification and authorization in the new curriculum reform.
