中小学普通艺术教育是基础教育的重要组成部分。中美两国艺术教育课程标准在教育哲学基础、培养目标、学科定位等方面的差异，实质上归因于中美两国文化、价值观念、教育体制、评价方式等方面的不同。中小学艺术教育自身特点决定了无论是以人文审美为核心，还是以能力实践为核心，其最终目的是指向人、为了人、服务人、发展人、完善人。因此，回归人文、走向综合、植根生活，应成为中小学普通艺术教育未来发展的必然趋势。

Art education in primary and secondary schools is an important part of basic education.Sino-US art education curriculum standards have differences in the philosophical foundation of education, goal of education and disciplinary value position, which is essentially due to the differences between Chinese and American culture, values, education system and evaluation methods. Nevertheless, due to the art education＇s inherent characteristics of primary and secondary education, therefore, whether it is the core of humanistic and aesthetic or the core of ability and practice, its ultimate aim is oriented towards the human, for the human, serve the human, develop the human and improve the human. Therefore, the returning of the humanities, towards the integration, roots in life, should become the inevitable trend of future development of art education of general primary and secondary schools.
