在语义学和语用学的界面研究中,关联理论的显义和隐义划分法独树一帜。近年来Carston等学者将更多的语用现象也划入显义的范畴,进一步拓宽了显义的范围,并且尝试以临时范畴为基础建立统一的解释框架。但是这一做法在理论解释力、显义和隐义甄别标准、跨学科整合、研究方法、隐义的可取消性以及语言习得观等方面面临很多问题和挑战。文章对这些问题和挑战进行了分析,并对将来发展趋势做出展望。

In exploring the interface between semantics and pragmatics, the distinction of explicature and implicature made by relevance theory attracts more and more scholarly attention. In recent years, relevant theorists like Carston try to bring more pragmatic phenomena under the umbrella of explicature and establish a unified interpretative framework on the basis of ad hoc concept. It is pointed out in the present paper that this endeavor faces numerous controversies and challenges concerning issues such as the explanatory power, the criteria for distinguishing explicature from implicature, cross-disciplinary integration, research methodology, the cancellability test as well as the implications to L2 acquisition. The paper also presents possible future developments in this line of research.
