利用2005-2012年省级面板数据,采用熵权法计算环境污染综合指数,分析了西部地区经济增长与环境污染的关系,并从结构性影响因素的角度,选取了对外开放程度、投资结构、产业结构和城乡结构等因素对环境污染的综合影响。结果表明,西部地区人均GDP与环境污染综合指数之间满足EKC假定,且已超过拐点进入下降通道,即经济发展会逐步降低其环境代价;工业化进程对西部地区环境污染问题的解决有积极作用,对外开放程度、国有投资比重和城镇化进程则有消极影响。与全国相比较,产业结构、投资结构对于西部地区环境污染问题的影响更为突出。

The relationship has been analyzed between economic growth and environmental pollution in China＇swestern regions by utilizing the provincial panel data from 2005 to 2012, and applying entropy-right method tocalculate the pollution index. Some of structural factors, such like open degree, investment structure, industrialstructure and urban-rural structure, were chosen to study their effects on environmental pollution, and the re-sults showed that the relationship between the GDP per capita and the pollution index of the western regionsmeets EKC Hypothesis, it means that economic growth gradually reduces its environmental costs. Industrializa-tion plays an active role in the resolution of environmental problems in the western regions, but openness, govern-ment investment and urbanization have a negative effect on environmental pollution. Compared with other re-gions in China, the effects of industrial structure, investment structure on environmental pollution are more prom-inent in the western regions.
