新中国成立至70年代，澳门经常出现气候异常现象，阻碍蔬菜正常生长，供给减少，价格波动，给民生带来困扰。导致气候异常期间蔬菜价格波动有多方面的因素，但主要取决于本地菜农和内地的供给量。在内地货源及时填补本地菜农蔬菜供给量下降缺口的情况下，供求均衡，价格平稳。由此可见，气候异常期间菜价必涨的局面并非常态。经过内地有关部门的不懈努力，千方百计加大供澳货源，成为扭转气候异常期间物价上涨趋势的关键变量，起到了安定社会，平抑物价，保障民生的效果。

From the founding of the P.R.China to the 1970s, abnormal weather conditions occurred frequently in Macao , which hindered vegetable growth , reduced vegetable market supply , caused vegeta-ble price fluctuation , and people ’ s livelihood was affected .Various elements caused the price fluctua-tion , local vegetable farmers and mainland vegetable supply amount are two main factors .In the situation that mainland vegetable supply timely close the gap , there is an equilibrium of supply and demand , and the vegetable prices are stable .Therefore , it changed the traditional understanding that the prices of veg-etable will soar inevitably under abnormal weather conditions .This phenomenon shows that mainland veg-etable supply has become a key variable to change the upward trend in prices during periods of climate a-nomalies , and timely and sufficient mainland vegetable supply will help to main social unity , curb infla-tion and protect people ’ s livelihood of Macao .
