The paper explored the development tendency in LTE by analyzing some factors such as the trend of patent appli- cation of LTE technology at home and abroad, its regional distribution and IPC and thus identifying its core technology with the aid of method of patent information analysis. In ad~tition, by using social network to build the collaboration network for the patentees, potential competitors and partners in at home and abroad LTE field are recognized. The research results can provide useful compet- itive information for the future development of Chinese LTE domain.
