近十年来,尤其是2010年以来,动机研究重获生机,研究角度更加多样化,有逐渐与“二语动机自我系统”相结合的趋势。目前,动机研究继续蓬勃发展的同时,研究角度转向动机的另一面动机衰竭。而目前的动机衰竭研究又为将来的“动机重建”埋下伏笔,其实质是“动机重建”的前奏。这样,动机的研究主题路径已然明了:从动机到动机衰竭再到“动机重建”,使动机研究沿着正一反一正的路径曲折发展,为现实中出现的二语学习动机提供可靠而实用的教学建议和政策性建议。

In the new decade, especially since 2010, there is a re-booming in the research inquiry of motivation. Motivation research has been closely related to the notion of L2 Motivational Self System. The perspectives of motivation research have shifted from a positive one to a negative one: demotivation, which concerns mainly about what are the factors that demotivate learners from progressing on in SLA. To put it in a broad sense, the current research of demotivation is a prelude of remotiva- tion which would focus on how to remotivate learners to regain motivation in foreign/second language learning context. Hence, a new path of motivation inquiry is emerging: from motivation to demotivation and then to remotivation which also signifies a parallel line from positive to negative and again to a positive perspective. The research can offer theoretical and practical sug- gestions for teachers and policy makers.
