国内外学者在恩格斯和马克思的自然观的比较问题上有不同的理解,从各自的立场对恩格斯和马克思在自然观上的一致和差异作出了不同阐释,概括起来有一致论、对立论和异同论三种观点。我们认为,不论是对实践的理解还是对自然概念的分析抑或是对人与自然关系的剖析上,恩格斯与马克思的自然观具有诸多的一致性;他们的自然观不是对立的而是互补的,其集中体现在实践观点、自然概念和辩证法三个层面。正是恩格斯与马克思在自然观上的互补使马克思主义自然观作为一个整体,构成马克思主义理论不可分割的有机组成部分。

cholars at home and abroad have different understandings of Engels＇s and Marx＇s concepts of nature. They had given interpretations of their own of the compatibility and complementation on the issue. In summary, they had three viewpoints of compatibility, opposition and difference-similarity. This text believes as far as the understanding of practice, the analysis of the connotation of nature and the decomposition of rela- tionship between man and nature are concerned, Engels and Marx are consistent in the concepts of nature. Their ideas of nature are not opposite but complementary in terms of outlook of practice, concept of nature and dialectics of nature. It is the complementarities in Engels＇s and Marx＇s concept of nature that makes Marxist view of nature as a whole an organic and indispensible part of Marxist theory.
