公示语翻译是一个城市的语言景观和形象工程。以功能学派翻译目的论为理论指导框架,对重庆市部分公示语英译语用失误进行分析,并结合在英国伦敦采集到的公示语语料进行比对,提出了＂借译＂＂创译＂＂不译＂＂简明＂＂礼貌＂等公示语翻译五原则。

Translation of public signs is the language landscape and image project of a city. Under the theoretic guiding principle of functionalism- featured Skopostheorie,through the means of analysis on pragmatic errors of C- E translation of public signs in Chongqing,in consideration of the first- hand language materials of public signs in London,this article was to propose 5 translation principles of public signs,namely,principle of loan translation,principle of creative translation,principle of nontranslation,principle of simplicity,and principle of politeness.
