1957年5月，中共中央号召知识分子向共产党鸣放各种整风意见，图书馆界专家也被动员起来公开表达意见与建议。但6月8日之后突如其来的反右斗争，竞致数十万知识分子因言获罪，一批图书馆界专家也未能幸免。被打成右派的图书馆专家从此开启了悲惨的人生命运。他们的经历从一个侧面说明，1957年作为一个分水岭不仅改变了知识分子的命运，更是荡涤了知识分子的人格与精神，中国图书馆事业也因此受到损失。参考文献94。

In May 1957, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China called for the intellectuals to declare their opinions on rectification. The library experts were also mobilized to express their opinions and suggestions. However, from June 8th, hundreds of thousands of intellectuals including many experts in library science were convicted because of the sudden anti - rightist struggle. From then on, their tragic fate of life began. The encounter shows us that the year 1957 is a watershed which not only changed the fate of intellectuals but also refreshed their personality and spirit.
