由卢曼的系统论视角,可以考察作为一个知识交流系统的外国文学研究的整体运作。外国文学研究的方法论,其实包含了三个层面:方法、理论、超理论。从超理论层面来统观,外国文学研究的交流过程被理解为退出/进入和异域/自我的双重循环,这种循环交替构成了一般主客认识的基础和一般方法论的元方法论。在此理论框架内,试图解决困扰当代中国的外国文学研究的几个重要问题:1.“失语症”命题;2.反对理论;3.翻译研究的定位;4.问题意识;5.中国文化立场。最后,提出连接卢曼系统论和中国传统思想的可能性,并且揭示了新整体性思想在当代西方理论场中的潜在脉络。

Based on Luhmann's Systems Theory, this paper aims at investigating the global operation of the foreign literature research which is often treated as a system of knowledge communication. According to the paper, there involves three levels of methodology, that is, method, theory and supertl~eory. From a supertheoretical point of view, the process of communication about foreign literature research is understood as a double circulation of exit/entry and the foreign/self, which forms the basis of the common subject-object cognition and the metamethodology of general methodology. Within this theoretical framework, this paper attempts to solve some important issues discussed in China for years on foreign literature research : 1 ) "aphasia" proposition ; 2 ) opposing theories ; 3 ) location of translation studies ; 4) problem consciousness ; and 5 ) standpoint of Chinese culture. Finally, the possibility of connecting Luhmann's Systems Theory with Chinese traditional thoughts is to be put forward in the pa- per, which reveals a potential development of neo-holistic thinking in the context of contemporary Western theories.
