在英国高等教育中有两种占主导地位的学术写作教学方法:一种是学术用途英语,另一种是学术素养模式。学术素养模式的观点是把写作看作社会实践,而且这种社会实践随着语境、文化和体裁的变化而变化。学术用途英语通常需要对交际语境和由此语境产生的语言行为做全面的解释和描述,并把它们作为任何教学解决方案的出发点,以满足学生的需求。文章批判性地审视这两种方法,识别它们的优势与不足,从而揭示对学术写作研究和教学的影响。

There are two dominant approaches to academic writing instruction in the UK higher education: the one is English for Academic Purposes ( EAP), and the other is Academic Literacies Model. The perspective of Academic Literacies treats writing as so- cial practices that vary with context, culture, and genre. English for Academic Purposes typically requires thorough accounts and ex- planations of both the communicative context and the linguistic behavior arising from this context and uses them as the starting points for any pedagogic solutions that are developed to meet learners' needs. This article critically examines both the approaches and identifies their advantages and deficiencies in order to reveal the influences on academic writing teaching and research.
