语言是表达思想的工具,更是权力意志的载体,是一切权力的基础。如果一种语言占据优势,那么该语言中所蕴含的文化就必然伴随着语言的传播、接触和使用而自然地根植到使用者的意识中。英语的强势对承载中华文明的汉语带来了一定程度的冲击,并广泛影响着中国人民的生活。汉英两种语言的博弈实质是国家软实力的竞争,是对话语权的争夺。因此,处理好汉语与英语的协调发展是一个严肃的课题,必须认真思考,提出理性的应对策略。

Language in one way is the tool to express thought and in another it is the carrier and basis of power.The power of language regulates social order and undertakes social managing function.If a language holds a dominating position,the culture embedded in the language is bound to transmit to the language learners in the process of contact,acquisition and use of that language.Against the background of postmodernism,there is no doubt that English,as a present dominating language,has great impact on Chinese language.The essence of language game between Chinese and English is the competition of soft power and therefore it would be a serious subject for Chinese people to consider how to manage the two languages and some proper strategies should be put forward to deal with the matter.
