自翻译学科建设以来，中国传统译论未能得到足够重视，一直处于失语状态。张佩瑶的《中国翻译话语英译（选集）》挖掘中国传统译论的精髓，采用“丰厚翻译”新策略系统地重溯了中国传统翻译话语的发展历程，并以新的“话语”视角重构传统译论，建构新的翻译话语体系，使之与西方译论进行对话，力推中国翻译话语走向世界。

Since the disciplinary construction of translation studies in China, inadequate attention has been paid to its own traditional theories, which has resulted in the phenomenon of aphasia in Chinese discourse on translation. Chueng’s An Anthology of Chinese Discourse on Translation has explored the essence of Chinese traditional theories by applying “thick translation” to trace the development of Chinese discourse on translation and “discourse” to rebuild a discourse system. Chueng has made great efforts to introduce Chinese discourses on translation to the world in a systemic manner, which makes them extricate from the aphasia plight and enables them to have conversations with western translation theories.
