王竑的仕途与大明帝国正统、景泰、天顺和成化的历史相伴而行,甚至是当时一系列重大事件的历史见证,其个人历史直接构成了明朝国史的部分内容。《明实录》作为明朝的编年国史,以时间为线索,鲜明地记载和反映了王竑在每一个阶段的成就。书中对王竑的肯定和惋惜,反映了《英宗实录》、《宪宗实录》和《孝宗实录》的史臣们对他的正面认识,也是对当时士大夫们对王竑评价的承载和记录。当然,无论是皇帝、士大夫还是史臣,他们对王竑的重视,又与王竑个人在景泰、天顺、成化、弘治间的历史功绩密不可分。这说明,历史的书写虽然与书写者的价值取向紧密相关,但也或多或少受制于客观的历史事实。

Wang HonKs official career, accompanied by the history of the Zhengtong,Jingtai, Tianshun and Chenghua of the Ming Empires,witnessed a series of major events of his time, and constituted part of the national history of the Ming Dynasty. Ming Memoir, which was the chronological national history of Ming Dynasty,clearly documented and reflected Wang HonKs achievements in each stage in chronological order as well. Its recognition and regrets to Wang Hong not only reflected the positive comments of the historiographers who wrote Yingzong Memoir, Xianzong Memoir and Xiaozong Memoir,but also recorded the officers＇ evaluations on him, which, of course, were inseparable from his historical achievements. It showed that the historical documentaries, though closely related to the writers; own value orientations, were more or less limited by the objective historical facts.
