As a master of contemporary Western literature critics, Rene Wellek put forward perspectivism in his masterpiece Theory of Literature. Perspeetivism requires that literature critics focus on both the value of literature and various understandings of it in history. They should express their own ideas and judgment while illustrating different literature theoretical views. Types of literature change along with times and literature classification should not run to extremes. Literature critics, theories and history correlate to each other, and therefore comparative literature should emphasize literariness. Perspectivism requires literature histo- rians to possess both rich knowledge on history and ability of literary criticism.
