在某种程度上,＂现代＂意味着现在和过去的断裂。阿来《尘埃落定》以一个傻子的视角,描绘了一个土司家族在历史前进道路上兴衰消亡的过程,体现了与旧有的社会、政治、经济、人物、观念、生活方式断裂的过程中人们对自我身份的迷失、对快速到来的历史转型的恐慌和无奈。《尘埃落定》也正是在这种现代性上展示了诗性叙述中的困惑之美、高度现代性下的狂欢之美、镜像与电影技巧的融合之美、源于民间叙事的魔幻之美。
