At the end of 19th century, Egypt gradually became the colony of Britain and France, and the Egyptian Communist movement played a significant role in the course of national liberation by degrees. As the main participant and organizer in the 1919 national movement, the Egyptian Communist Movement served as the key actor in the formally independence of Egypt, forcing the British government to pay attention to the voice of Egyptian people. There was a close relationship between Egyptian Communist Movement and Free Officer Organization. Egyptian Communist Movement not only participated in the July 23rd revolution, but also took part in the Suez Canal war. Moreover, it strengthened the national independence of Egypt. It was true that Egyptian Communist Party failed to take over power and establish a socialist state, however, it acted as the engineer of the new government and put forward the socialist measures taken by the Nasser government, which still holds on today.
