本文从语义学视角探讨了情态的评价意义,认为情态与评价理论中态度系统和介入系统关系密切。要探究情态的态度评价意义,需要对态度系统中"常态"、"真实性"和"适宜性"等概念,甚至对其上一级系统的概念,进行内涵与外延上的适当拓展,以提高评价理论的解释力和适用性。介入系统中,把高"盖然性"情态表达式视为"对话收缩"中的"宣称"的语义资源更为合理。态度系统和介入系统关涉情态的不同语义维度,两条不同的语义联系路线是相互独立、并行不悖的。

On the basis of semantic scrutiny of the appraisal function of modality, the present study proposes that modality has close relations with the systems of attitude and engagement in Appraisal Theory. In particular, to examine the appraisal func- tion of modality in the system of attitude, it is necessary to expand the notions of "normality", "veracity" and "propriety" both intensionally and extensionally so that the explanatory power and applicability of Appraisal Theory will be improved. With regard to engagement, it is more reasonable to regard modality of high probability as resources of "pronounce" in "dialogic contraction". Finally, the attitude system and the engagement are concerned respectively with two different dimensions of mo- dality: classification and orientation, following two independent semantic lines.
