中国公民教育思想必须以理性的自觉对祖国传统文化进行扬弃改造和化本开新。历经数千年积淀,中华文化形成了以儒学为主线并涵括其他学派思想精神的博大思想体系,其整体本位、以人为本、天人和谐等理念品质蕴藏着丰富的当代公民教育思想资源。厘清其中的公民精神教育因素,使之与中国社会现代化转型相对接,实现传统文化与现代公民教育思想的时代融合,对于推动公民教育的中国本土化有重要意义。

The thought of Chinese civic education must attach importance to merits promotion, demerits sublation and creation of new thoughts in traditional culture on the basis of rational self - awareness. Abundant resources of contemporary civic education thought have been reserved in Chinese culture featured by such concepts as holism, people- orientedness, harmony between humans and nature, etc., a comprehensive and profound thought system which was formed on the basis of Confucianism through thousands of years and inclusive of thoughts of other schools. Clarifying factors in citizenship education, adapting it to the transformation of China＇ s social moderniza- tion, and realizing the amalgamation of traditional culture and modem civic education will play a significant role in the promotion of localization of civic education in China.
