典籍英译是一项复杂的工作,它对相关工作人员的要求比较高。他们既要掌握中英文知识,又要了解古今中外知识。只有具备全面文化知识的人,才能从事这项工作。中英文翻译本身就很难,要求翻译人员的素质较高。因此,这项工作必须设立专业学科才能解决问题。目前来看,具备上述能力的人才并不多,为了有效开展典籍英译的对外传播工作,当务之急是培养大批后备人才。在人才培养环节上,高校是重要阵地,高校应该广泛开展组织宣传工作。首先,高校要设立典籍英译专业学科,招收培养专业人才;其次,高校要开设相关课程,为典籍英译学习打好基础。

The translation of the classics is a complicated job which needs professional talents. The transla- tors should understand both Chinese and English knowledge and the history of the world. Only those who have acquired enough cultural knowledge can take on the work. Because the translation of the classics de- mands that the talented translators have a complete understanding of the world's history, the translation from Chinese to English becomes more difficult. Therefore, establishing professional majors are very nec- essary. At present, less people can be suitable for this job. For more effective translation of classics, what we should do right now is to cultivate more talents. Universities are important for cultivating talents and the universities should carry out effective methods. Firstly, the translation of classics should be estab- lished as a major for cultivating more talents; secondly, set up the curriculum of translation of classics which can offer enough professional knowledge.
