习近平系列讲话中，将中华传统文化比喻成“精神基因”，这明确了中华传统文化和中国特色社会主义文化之间的内在关系。把中华传统文化看成是“精神基因”虽然是一种形象比喻或隐喻，但具有合理性：“精神基因”观点的合理性根植于基因本身的特性；“精神基因”说具有很好的解释性；“精神基因”说更好地表明对待传统文化的态度。应充分理解中华传统文化作为当代中国特色社会主义文化的“精神基因”的观点，主动、自觉、开放、创造性地发挥中华传统文化“精神基因”功能，坚定中国特色社会主义道路、理论体系和制度自信。

In C.P.C general secretary Xi Jin-ping＇s address in series, he compares traditional Chinese culture to be＂spiritual gene＂, which illustrates inherent ties between traditional Chinese culture and socialist culture with Chinesecharacteristics. Traditional Chinese culture is regarded as ＂spiritual gene＂ as a figurative simile or metaphor with justification：the idea ＂spiritual gene＂ is justified in the feature of gene itself; the idea ＂spiritual gene＂ has adequate accountability; theidea ＂spiritual gene＂ better indicate attitude about traditional culture. It should be fully understood that the idea that traditionalChinese culture is ＂spiritual gene＂ for contemporary socialist culture with Chinese characteristics manifests active,conscientious, liberal and creative display of ＂spiritual gene＂ function in traditional Chinese culture and confidence withadherence to socialist road with Chinese characteristics, theoretic system and system self-confidence.
