The category management for private colleges and universities is an important component in deepening the reform of the educational system and promoting the sound development of privately-run schools. Various diver- gence and institutional difficulties which affect it should be reviewed in depth, and reconstructed about the classifica- tion and management system for private colleges constructed. It＇s necessary for the category management for private colleges and universities to clarify the idea misunderstandings from idea aspect . In systematic level, a good system environment should be established ,the systems of entity and procedure about category management should be strengthened. In governmental level, we should stress the role of government, strengthen relative policy guidelines, de- velop the donative private colleges and play the function of the regulation and service of governmental departments concerned.
