文本间性是传记的一大特性,传记的文本间性呈现出文本挪用的＂同文＂现象、传主与叙事者＂同声＂现象、相同事实不同叙事的＂重构＂现象、历史还原注重＂文本事实＂的现象。历史事实是一种客观存在,文本事实却有很大的主观性,王世贞传呈现出的文本事实因书写者对传主历史事实理解的不同而彼此互异。从文本间性层面关注同一传主的不同传记文本,认知传记文本对传主的理解、想象和还原,可以加深对传主及其传记文本的理解。

Inter-textuality is one of the main characteristics of biographies, which demonstrates itself in the following forms： textual similarities among different biographies of the same subject, simultaneousness between the biographer and the subject, reconstruction of the same facts but in different versions, and the emphasis on facts in restoration of history. Generally, historical facts are objective, but textual facts are full of subjectivity. There are different versions of biographies of Wang Shizhen due to the fact that different biographers have different interpretations of historical facts. Inter-textuality helps the study of different biographies of the same subject so that a more accurate and comprehensive understanding of the subject and the historical background can be achieved.
