科学实在论的核心问题就是为科学合理性做出令人信服的理论辩护。从麦克维尔、斯马特等人开始,科学实在论发展出来的最主要辩护模式是＂非奇迹论证＂,他们强调科学在经验上取得的成功为实在论提供了最佳的解释说明,这是＂唯一不使科学成功沦为奇迹＂的理论。围绕＂非奇迹论证＂的辩护,科学实在论与反实在论展开了激烈争论,可以说,＂非奇迹论证＂已成为双方理论之争的＂中心＂问题。从论证的类型来看,＂非奇迹论证＂的核心观念是一种＂最佳解释推理＂模式,它在符合人们直觉的同时,却在逻辑上还存在一定的理论困境。

The central concern of scientific realism is to convincingly defend the rationality of science. Beginning from Grover Maxwell, J. Smart and others, scientific realism has created its most major defense pattern, namely no-mira- cle argument. These philosophers emphasize that the success science achieves in people＇ s experience provides the best footnote to scientific realism, and they believe that no-miracle argument is ＂the only approach that will not make the suc- cess of science appear as a miracle.＂ Scientific realism and anti-realism are having a fierce debate about the defense of no-miracle argument. To a great extent, no-miracle argument has become a central issue in the theoretical debate of the two sides. Judged from the type of reasoning, the central concept in no-miracle argument is the ＂best explanatory and reasoning pattern.＂ However, although no-miracle argument can satisfy people＇ s intuition, the logic implied in it may still have some logical predicament.
