20世纪初期,中国一批知识分子面对国家的命运,探索救亡图存的出路,纷纷走出国门去求学。成仿吾是其中一员,他先后在日本、法国、德国学习,熟练掌握了日、德、俄等5门语言,在中西文化中进行艰难的选择,最终他坚持理性的借鉴与批判的吸收,成为坚定的马克思主义者,他把所学与中国的实际国情相结合,对中国现代文学和教育事业的发展起到了及其重要的推动作用,本文就成仿吾的中西文化观进行评述。

In early 20th century,some Chinese intellectuals, in hope of changing China＇s difficult situations,chose to study abroad, searching a way out for their country. Cheng Fangwu, as one of these pioneers, studied in Japan, France and Germany. He not only learned the languages from different countries, but also compared western cultures with Chinese ones. After examining different theories rationally and critically, he became a strong believer of Marxism. Mr. Cheng combined what he learned abroad with the actual conditions of China and greatly promoted the development of modern literature and education in China. This paper will comment Cheng Fangwu＇s western and oriental cultural values.
