现代性是一种流变的特质,意指不同时代的当下性和现时性。今天的现代性,其现时性是一种经济性。回顾历史,经济性的生成源于中世纪后期的世俗化进程,经济利益取代荣誉追求成为欲望的主要目标。同时,人类身心位置的安放从自然本性移向市民社会,市场规则开始侵蚀政治领域,政治弱化为经济地行使权力的治理术。财富与发展成为衡量现代文明的标尺,经济性获得了价值评判的权力,现代社会最终滑入一个市场社会,市场价值观主宰着非市场的生活领域。解读经济性的学理内涵,反思市场的历史局限和逻辑界限,批判现代性的经济本质是亟需解决的一系列时代命题。只有从有限经济回归普遍价值,个人品德、公民精神和社会责任各司其职才是超越经济性局限的根本路径。

Modernity is a kind of rheological characteristics, which shows the moment and present of different epochs. For today's modernity, its presence is a kind of economies. Historically, economies' formation resulted from the secularization process in late Middle Ages, when economic interest took the place of honor pursuit, becoming the main target of desire. Meanwhile, the position of human body and mind was moved from the nature to civil society, and market rules began to erode the region of politics, weakening the politics to the governmentality, which means how to use the power most economically. Wealth and development become a measure of the modern civilization scale; the economies obtain the power of value evaluation; and modern society ultimately slides to a market society. The market values dominate all areas of life. There is a series of era propositions urgently needed to be solved, unscrambling the academic connotation of economies, reflecting on the historical limitation and logical line of the market, and criticizing the economic essence of modernity. The only way to surpass the economic limitation is reverting the limited economies to common value, and then individual character, citizenship spirit and social responsibility will all do their own jobs
