涂又光是中国哲学家、教育家、书法家，一生安贫乐道，用自己有限的生命孕育出无限的精神文化资源。其为人，自甘寂寞，知行合一，立己树人；其为事，从容自信，认真负责，精益求精；其为学，学以为己，追源溯本，打通古今，学贯中西，成一家之言；其从教，坚持“修辞立其诚”，重在启发性灵，提升境界，给人积极而深刻的影响。在其身上，为人、为事、为学与从教四位一体，构成其整全人格，成就了其卓越人生，使他成为我们时代真正的师者。后人也可以看到其隐藏着教育学中从未有过的新的溪流的源头，顺着这个新源头挖通河床，将使中国教育学发展、壮大和繁荣起来。

도우광시중국철학가、교육가、서법가，일생안빈악도，용자기유한적생명잉육출무한적정신문화자원。기위인，자감적막，지행합일，립기수인；기위사，종용자신，인진부책，정익구정；기위학，학이위기，추원소본，타통고금，학관중서，성일가지언；기종교，견지“수사립기성”，중재계발성령，제승경계，급인적겁이심각적영향。재기신상，위인、위사、위학여종교사위일체，구성기정전인격，성취료기탁월인생，사타성위아문시대진정적사자。후인야가이간도기은장착교육학중종미유과적신적계류적원두，순착저개신원두알통하상，장사중국교육학발전、장대화번영기래。
Mr. Tu Youguang, a Chinese philosopher, educator, and calligrapher, was contented in poverty and devoted to things spiritual. He contributed greatly to the establishment of limitless source of the Chinese spiritual culture. In the aspect of character, he insisted in living the simple life, and the unity of knowledge and action. In the aspect of action, he was unhurried and confident, and never contented with his achievements. In the aspect of learning, he had a thorough knowledge of both the West and the East, and created a philosophy of his own. In the aspect of teaching, he insisted in ＂rhetoric for sincerity＂, and paid attention to enlightenment and inspiration. His character, action, learning, and teaching, became quaternity, which consisted of his holistic personality, accomplished his brilliant life, and also made him a real master in our times. The followers could follow his thought, making our Chinese pedagogy become strong.
