大众休闲时代的到来,生活方式变革与社会发展批判的双重需要,休闲与日常生活理论研究凸显紧迫性和重要性。列斐伏尔的日常生活批判和休闲批判独树一帜。他主张通过节庆和都市化进行日常生活的微观改造,倡导生活和艺术融合的文化革命,成就“需求一劳动一愉悦”三位一体的“总体的人”。他坚持马克思主义的辩证法和实践论,其理论具有浪漫主义美学的“乌托邦”色彩。今天,休闲之哲学本位是从日常生活的日常性中突围出来对自由和诗性的追求。休闲在实践中是人们摆脱日常生活困境的自然选择,同时担负着理论上审美救赎和思想解放之功能。休闲——反抗异化的休闲、超越物质占有的休闲,是生活方式变革的重要组成部分。休闲既是日常生活的一部分,也意味着日常生活的反正。

Dr. Husserl drew attention of philosophers to the analysis of everyday life. Different philosophers analyzed and interpreted everyday life with different theoretical methods. Lefebvre stood out from all the others with his Critique of Everyday Life. Lefebvre regarded everyday life as a union of leisure and work. He analyzed and criticized the relationship between leisure and work in modern society. His leisure critique was a very important part of his everyday critique. According to Lefebvre, demand, labor and pleasure constituted an overall human being. In his opinion, the critique of everyday life, cultural revolution and philosophical transformation tread different paths that lead to the same end. The change of everyday life was put into practice by the cultural revolution while the cultural revolution was realized by micro life-style transformations. Lefebvre' s theories were full of ambiguous contradictions, just like modern society. On one hand, he was a determined optimist and tried all his life to speak out for society. On the other hand, like a fighting beast, his only hope existed in an instant carnival. He knew the problems that marked the later period of a capitalist society, but he could not do anything to stop it. He saw the impossibility of overall reform, and decided to withdraw himself from reality and to follow romanticism. He concerned himself with everyday life from beginning to the end. Everyday life, he said, was a contradictory mixture with pain and hope, critique and remodeling. He persisted in the dialectics and the practice of Marxism, and his theories had a sense of romantic Utopia. The basis of leisure philosophy is a breaking-off from daily life with non-daily experience, and it aims to imbue life with a feeling of poetic freedom. The leisure realm presents the native meaning of everyday life and embodies the value of being. We choose leisure as a natural selection to break away from the dilemma of everyday life. Leisure is an aesthetic redemption and an ideological emancipation. The true value of leisure exists in the Mass Participation of more and more people. Leisure is also a form of resistance to the depressed space, including bodies, consciousness, souls, societies and cultures. The space is not only a concept of material existence, but also a polysemy of culture, politics and psychology. The structure and experience of space and the production and re-production of space mould the individual life and social relationships. Leisure, as an expression of life style, is the strength for rebuilding and it is open to the space. Leisure is the reconfirmation of multifariousness and humanity, and is a critique of instrumental rationality. Society should supply more leisure opportunities to citizens and promote aesthetic culture through leisure. Individuals will develop themselves with leisure experiences. It is leisure that decides the civilization of a society and free development of the individuals. Leisure is the revolt against alienation and materialism; it is a significant part of life-style transformation. The morbid everyday life transforms leisure into a strength that puts wrongs to rights.
